Overview

On this tour, Ruka offers the perfect winter escape with adventure, skiing, and nature at its best. Known as one of the top destinations in northern Finland, the area features 39 slopes and 240 km of snow tracks, making it a paradise for skiers. A variety of excursions, including snowmobiling, husky safaris, and Aurora tours, are available. The selected resort is conveniently located near the airport and slopes, with a ski bus operating hourly during winter. Surrounded by open nature and away from the crowds, Ruka provides the ultimate winter playground.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in Ruka
Upon arrival, travellers transfer to Ruka Salonki, a premium lakeside resort just 25 minutes from the airport. Accommodation is in Veskaranta Sky View Villas, which feature skylights offering stunning views of the Northern Sky. A welcome dinner is served at the main restaurant.

Day 2 | A Day with Santa & Aurora Adventure
After breakfast, travellers visit Santa’s cottage for a private experience with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves. A cosy snack of grilled sausages and hot juice is served by the fire (4-hour excursion). In the evening, an exclusive Aurora hunting excursion takes place in a luxurious wagon, with fireside snacks enjoyed under the starry sky.

Day 3 | Husky Safari & Snowmobile Excursion
The day begins with a thrilling 10km husky safari, where travellers drive their own sled through picturesque forest trails. In the evening, a 20km snowmobile adventure leads through the snowy wilderness, with a stop for hot drinks while marvelling at the Northern sky.

Day 4 | Leisure & Skiing
A full day at leisure provides the opportunity to explore Ruka’s renowned ski slopes. The ski bus operates every hour, offering quick and easy access to the resort’s extensive ski runs.

Day 5 | Reindeer Experience & Winter Activities
Travellers learn about Finland’s rich reindeer herding traditions and experience a traditional reindeer sleigh ride through the snowy landscape. A campfire gathering at a Kammi shelter includes snacks. The afternoon is free—perhaps another ski session is in order?

Day 6 | Departure
After breakfast, travellers transfer to the airport, bringing an unforgettable Arctic adventure to a close.
