Welcome aboard a fascinating journey through the many worlds of Karnataka. Embark on a luxurious journey of discovery through the Cradle of Stone Architecture. The Golden Chariot - Pride of The South train travels through timeless historical heritage sites, resplendent palaces, wildlife areas and golden beaches. The colourful journey begins every Monday from Bangalore and traverses through Mysore, visiting Srirangapatna, Mysore Palace; the Nagarhole National Park (Kabini) and continuing to the historical sites of Shravanabelagola, Belur-the 11th century cradle of Hoysala architecture and a world heritage site, Halebidu, Hampi and thereafter entering into the triangular heritage site of Badami, Pattadakal, Aihole, and finally the golden beaches of Goa before ending in Bangalore.
Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrival / Bangalore - Nanjangud
Upon arrival at Yashwantpur Railway Station Registration and Check in from 08:30 hrs onwards. Morning departure from YPR (09:45 hrs).
Lunch onboard as train arrives into Nanjangud (13:30 hrs).
Proceed to Bandipur Wildlife sanctuary at 14:45 hrs (1 hr 30 minutes drive).
Evening Safari (16:30 hrs to 18:30 hrs).
Return to train by 20:15 hrs. and dinner onboard as train proceeds to Mysore.

Day 2 | Mysore
Breakfast onboard.
Proceed to visit Mysore Palace, built in 1912 in the Indo-Saracenic style which exudes a grandeur that is unmatched. The Golden Royal Elephant throne, the Durbar Hall, the Kalyana Mandap and the Gallery are the main attractions here.
Return to train for lunch after which optional visit to Srirangapatnam, located 14 km North-East of the Bangalore-Mysore highway, it was once the capital of the warrior-kings Hyder Ali and his son Tipu Sultan.
Dinner onboard as train proceeds to Banavar, watering and fuelling.

Day 3 | Halebidu - Chikamgaluru
Breakfast onboard.
Visit Halebidu from Banavar Railway Station.
Lunch onboard as train proceeds to Chikamgaluru.
Evening visit to Coffee Plantation followed by cultural activities and dinner at Chikamgaluru.
Chikmagalur is famous for its coffee estates and offers a variety of tours about the coffee-making process, from bean to cup. Walk through the plantations, and experience different coffee varieties, and the history of coffee in the region. Meet the local coffee growers and learn about their traditional methods of cultivation and harvesting.
Return to train as it proceeds to Hospet

Day 4 | Hospet
Breakfast onboard.
Visit Hampi - Hampi is a small, captivating temple town situated along the banks of the Tungabhadra River. There are many places to Visit in Hampi, which is a gateway to the bygone eras, transporting you to the reigns of medieval kings and emperors. Surrounded by the remains of the historical city of Vijayanagar, Hampi is a treasure-house of ruins, monoliths and boulders.
Return to train for lunch onboard.
Evening free.
Dinner onboard
Train proceeds to GOA.

Day 5 | Goa
Arrive Karmali.
Post breakfast, visit the churches of North Goa. Deboard at 09:00 and return at 12:00 noon.
Lunch onboard as train proceeds to Madgaon.
Evening Gala Dinner activity at a hotel in South Goa
Train proceeds to Bengaluru. (22:30 hrs).

Day 6 | Bangalore
Breakfast onboard.
Deboard at Bengaluru (YPR) and transfer to Bangalore airport to board the flight for onward destinations.
